The History of
The Church of Redemption Inc.

The Vision of The Church of Redemption came to our Pastor Robert Butler in a vision when he was about 17 years old on Market Street where he then lived. The Lord spoke and showed the work that was yet before him. The name of this new work was then given the name, “The Church of Redemption.” Brother Butler thought he was too young to start the work so he wrote the vision down in his book he called, “Words from God.” He kept the vision alive in his heart until the appointed time.

Behold now is the time!

Brother Butler worked in several ministerial offices after receiving the vision at the United Christian Cathedral; Flamingo Gardens, under the leadership of Bishop A. H. Hepburn. He then later join the apostolic family of The Final Hour Ministries, Fox Hill, where he first became Pastor, pasturing the 8th branch of the assembly, “The Power House,” Third St. and Poinciana Ave. after the resignation of Bishop Zendal Thompson.

The vision started to eat away at Pastor Butler and it became a blazing fire within him.  He gracefully sat down from pasturing at the Power House and moved back to Head Quarters in Fox Hill. One Sunday morning the fire of the Lord fell so strong in the Final Hour Cathedral, Pastor Butler took off running, all in his head were the voices of the lost souls crying out for help. It was then; he listened to the voice of God and obeyed Him. Pastor sat down one afternoon under the Star Apple Three and told his vision to Rev. Saveletta Fowler, his spiritual mentor and mother in the gospel. She gave her blessings and sent him to speak to Bishop Fowler. Being obedient he went right away and sat in counsel for a long time with Bishop G. O. Fowler. Bishop then gave his fatherly blessing the send Pastor Butler on his way.

Having the blessings of his spiritual parents and mentors Pastor Butler sat under the Final Hour Ministry for one more week. On March 8th 2009, Pastor Butler started having services in the living room of his home. In attendance of that first service were Pastor Robert Butler and Dr. Oscar Seymour. Pastor Suzanne Butler and others later joined in.  Many heard about the services and joined in the work. The living room then became too small to hold the people.  A tent was erected on the front foundation of the building hosting over 20 people.

On May 31st 2009, Senior Pastor of the Seed Outreach Ministries, Bishop Luther Thurston led the commissioning service and blessing of the ministry.  Pastor Robert Butler was anointed and appointed to serve as Senior Pastor.

Redemption Gospel Ministry is the first assembly to have been established under the banner of the Church of Redemption. As in the vision there are many more to come. We look forward to the move of God in the Church as it continues to grow steadily.
